Kucheh Nameh is a digital home for stories and visual art that expand our understanding of freedom. We publish fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, essays, poetry, visual art, and/or photography. All contributors are compensated.

We are interested in work that is curious, politically conscious, and emotionally honest. We prioritize creatives who have been historically excluded from literary and art spaces, including those working at the intersections of migration, displacement, gender, queerness, disability, and racial justice. We reject nationalism, exceptionalism, and savior narratives. 

Published quarterly, we intentionally center Iranian voices, but we also feature writers and artists from communities whose struggles, experiences, and imaginations move in conversation with ours. In other words, you do not need to be Iranian to submit to Kucheh Nameh, but when we consider submissions, we do so with our largely Iranian and SWANA audience in mind.
